From the Forbidden City to the skyscrapers of Shanghai, this ten-day escorted tour takes you through China old and new. You walk the Great Wall at Mutianyu, discover Chongqing by day and by night, see the giant pandas of Chengdu and end your journey on the Bund in Shanghai.

Day-by-day itinerary
- Day1
Beijing, arrival
Our driver meets you at the airport and takes you to your hotel. Free time, depending on your arrival time.
- Day2
Imperial Beijing
Visit the famous Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City, former residence of China’s emperors. In the afternoon, visit the Summer Palace.
- Day3
Great Wall and Chongqing
Visit the Great Wall at Mutianyu, with the cable car included and a toboggan ride down (cable car only for travellers over 60). Transfer to the airport and flight to Chongqing. Welcome and transfer to your hotel.
- Day4
Chongqing
Free morning. After lunch, visit the Liziba and Baixiangju districts. In the evening, discover Hongyadong, then take a stroll in Jiangtan Park to watch the drone show (Saturdays only).
- Day5
Panoramic Chongqing
Visit the Egongyan scenic viewpoint, then explore Raffles City, with the chance to try the high-altitude suspended swing. Free time for shopping and tasting local specialities.
- Day6
Chengdu
High-speed train to Chengdu. Check in at your hotel, then free time.
- Day7
Chengdu and the giant pandas
Visit the Giant Panda Research Base, where you can see pandas of all ages, including cubs. In the afternoon, People’s Park (tea included), then a stroll along Jinli Ancient Street, a historic street known for its food.
- Day8
Shanghai
Domestic flight to Shanghai. Free time for shopping on Nanjing Road and a walk along the Bund.
- Day9
Shanghai and Zhujiajiao
Visit Zhujiajiao, a charming water town typical of the Jiangnan region. Back in Shanghai, discover Yu Garden and the Bund, then cross by ferry to the Oriental Pearl Tower (going up the tower is optional).
- Day10
Departure
Depending on your flight time, transfer to the airport for your return flight.
